Effect of CF on mechanical properties and ignition characteristics of Al/PTFE reactive materials under quasi-static compressive

Abstract The chopped carbon fiber (CF) was introduced into Al (aluminum) /PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) reactive materials, and Al/CF/PTFE materials with different mass fractions of CF were prepared. In order to study the effect on mechanical properties ignition characteristics Al/PTFE quasi-static compression tests carried out types specimens. fracture specimens observed by SEM, mechanism analyzed crack-induced hot spots. results show that yield strength elastic modulus increase while compressive strain decrease increasing fraction. in interfacial adhesion between PTFE matrix, uneven load transfer during stress concentration lead material. material failure crack tip without ductile brittle transition are main factors for non reaction compression. did not improve pressure Al/PTFE, but decreased sensitivity.
